About this site

About the Budget & Transparency Site

This is an official resource published by the City of Linn Valley to show residents — clearly and honestly — how the City's money is collected and spent.

Data status. The figures across this site are the City's adopted 2026 budget, transcribed from the official Kansas budget forms and shown as the working baseline while the 2027 budget is developed. They will be replaced with the adopted 2027 figures when available. Last reviewed: June 24, 2026. Where any figure here differs from the official adopted budget, the official budget controls.

Why we built it

Most cities publish their budget as a dense PDF that's hard for residents to follow. We wanted something better: the same numbers the Governing Body works from, presented in plain language with charts anyone can read. As we enter the 2027 budget season, this site is the foundation of a lasting financial-transparency resource.

Where the data comes from

The figures are drawn from the City's adopted budget documents. Source documents:

All dollar amounts live in a single data file that the City updates each budget year, so the charts and tables always match the latest figures.

How to use it

A note on accuracy

We work to keep this site accurate, but where a figure here differs from the official adopted budget, the official budget controls. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us.
